What are?

Lay On Doors

Today's contemporary designed kitchen doors are usually of the Lay-on style. Fundamentally differing from in frame design, where the doors are often flat in design, and are fitted to the carcass using adjustable hinges. The door will sit against cover all sides of the carcass completely leading to a seamless run of base or all unit doors. There is no framing of the door itself which gives the modern, stylish effect.

Adjustable Lay-on doors have made good-looking fitted kitchens more affordable because the manufacturing process is simpler and considerably faster, utilising MDF core and sprayed or laminated finishes. ​

We aim to supply and fit both In Frame and Lay-on kitchens to the highest standard.

In Frame Design

If you’re looking for a custom created kitchen, designed by skilled kitchen cabinet makers to be unique to your needs, then classic In Frame construction should be your choice.

In Frame is solid craftsmanship. A bespoke wooden carcass made to measure with doors and drawers all perfectly fitted. An In Frame kitchen will last and last with a timeless luxury, quality, look and feel.

In Frame kitchens use solid wood, glued and screwed in the traditional way for rigidity and resistance to daily wear and tear. Doors and drawers are made to measure, so no adjustable hinges are needed, instead butt hinges are used. These strong hinges are screwed to the solid wood so are very durable and long-lasting. In Frame kitchens are usually made to measure in a workshop but painted and hand -finished on site for a perfect look. ​
